What makes AmazonSpeed different is not only the implementation of Alexa in the vehicle, but advancing the technology to use facial recognition to create a new revolutionary system.
The integration of these features provide safety and customization for AmazonSpeed customers. Facial recognition enables the driver to unlock the doors after the car recognizes its driver. AmazonSpeed additionally uses this feature to start the engine and identify unsafe driving habits. AmazonSpeed’s Alexa feature allows the driver to have a completely hands-free personalized experience including access to your favorite routes, friends’ locations through SnapMap, and even allows you to control the car’s features, such as rolling down the windows or locking the doors.
Driver Safety Recognition can be enabled through facial recognition. Amazon will not only be able to identify the vehicle's owner, but also recognize and acknowledge feelings and symptoms that person might have. The system utilizes video recording and identification to prevent threats and other potential crimes.
As a company, we started off in 1994 selling books online. While this was a great starting point, we had bigger plans for the future. In 1998, we shifted from soley book retail and expanded the products we offered. 2005 marked the launch of AmazonPrime, which includes free a two-day shipping delivery date with an annual subscription to the service. In 2007, we released the AmazonFresh grocery store service, AmazonMusic, an online music store, and Amazon Kindle, which allows users to download ebooks across various devices.
After expanding and building up our inventory, we released the largely successful AmazonEcho in 2014. In 2015, we launched Amazon Restaurants, which delivers food to nearby Prime users. Then in 2016, we acquired Whole Foods and expanded our consumer market. We released Amazon Key in 2017, which allows delivery drivers to leave packages inside a customer's front door to improve security and limit theft.
Additionally, in 2017 we released Amazon Sumerian, a platform for developers to create augmented and virtual reality apps with minimal coding. From our start with of books to the eventual expansion, Amazon has become a global leader in ecommerce. AmazonSpeed’s release this year, 2030, follows not only our mission to make this world a safer and more efficient place, but also continues our legacy as a coorporation of innovation and expansion.
In 2019, almost 10 years before our new service's release date, our Amazon Prime consumer stats numbered at just over 100 million subscribers. Additionally, our ecommerce sales exceeded 234 billion. 7.4% of these sales were our own Amazon brand products. Amazon Speed is revolutionary as it combines past products (including a built-in AmazonEcho) while adding facial recognition among other features to offer more security and simplicity. This continued aim for convenience furthers our goal to offer a one-stop-shop. Customers can order the car through Prime and in just two short days, have your product securely delivered. All desired Amazon brand products are wrapped seamlessly together in one product: Amazon Speed - bow not included.
